Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the selection results for the National-Level Planning Textbooks for Undergraduate Higher Education (14th Five-Year Plan). Two textbooks authored by faculty members of the School of Cyber Science and Engineering at Southeast University (SEU)—Network Measuring andDigital Circuits and Systems (2nd Edition)—were successfully selected, highlighting the School's solid foundation and academic strength in textbook development, discipline construction, and talent cultivation.
The development of the National-Level PlanningTextbooks for Undergraduate Higher Education (14th Five-Year Plan) is an important measure taken by the Ministry of Education to thoroughly implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and accelerate the development of an independent knowledge system, disciplinary system, and textbook and teaching system. It aims to select outstanding textbooks that reflect cutting-edge academic developments both at home and abroad, align with major national needs and talent development requirements, and demonstrate innovation and exemplary value.
Network Measuring is edited by Dean Cheng Guang of the School of Cyber Science and Engineering at SEU. It was previously selected as a Key Textbook for Jiangsu Universities and a Jiangsu Provincial 14th Five-Year Plan Textbook. Addressing the needs of the cyberspace security discipline, this textbook systematically explains the basic theories and concepts of network measurement, and elaborates on the methods and tools of traffic analysis. Integrating basic knowledge, cutting-edge technologies, and practical training, the textbook has been adopted by more than 20 top universities and numerous well-known enterprises. It is widely used in teaching and training and highly acclaimed by all sectors.
Digital Circuits and Systems is co-authored by Vice Dean Chen Liquan. It was previously selected as a Key Textbook for Jiangsu Universities (13th Five-Year Plan). This textbook systematically introduces the basic theories and practical applications of digital circuits and systems, integrates a large number of engineering cases, and elaborates on the description, analysis, and design methods of digital circuits. Supported by abundant teaching resources, it serves as a companion textbook to the National High-Quality Online Open CourseDigital Circuits and Systems. It is widely suitable for undergraduate teaching in electronic information, electrical engineering, automation, computer science, and other majors, and has been well received by both teachers and students.
The selected textbooks closely align with the needs of national strategic emerging fields such as cybersecurity and electronic information, and keep pace with the frontiers of disciplinary development. By empowering classroom teaching with high-quality educational resources, they are of far-reaching significance for the School to further deepen educational and teaching reforms and improve educational quality.
In the future, the School will continue to focus on the fundamental task of talent cultivation, continuously strengthen textbook development and management, and give full play to the exemplary and leading role of national planned textbooks.
